How could we have let liberal policies break down discipline in the public schools?

That is the root cause of our public education problems. The liberal bureaucracy has done all it can to erode discipline in the public schools and let kids do what ever they want. Maybe it is out of fear of litigation..........which by the way many of the ones suing represent liberal beliefs. What we need to fix our schools is not more money.........we need teachers that are like marine drill instructors..........like the ones I have now at Navy OCS.How could we have let liberal policies break down discipline in the public schools?
It's become impossible to kept up with all the liberal assaults. You want to trust your doctor, your mechanic, even your hairdresser. You'd think you could trust politicians, but we know thats been impossible for some time now.How could we have let liberal policies break down discipline in the public schools?

You want drill instructors in the public schools? News flash: Drill instructors are dealing with young, but still grown, men. Dealing with children is a VERY different thing, and the same techniques cannot apply. After all, I seriously doubt there has ever been a drill instructor who said, ';Drop and give me 50, maggot! And if you do, I'll give you a cookie!'; (Hell, if it's a good cookie, one of those big-*** chocolate chip monsters they sell at Starbucks, I'd drop and give you 50 push-ups... and I'm 39! I'd hurt like hell afterward, but for a good cookie, I'd try it.)
I can discipline a classroom all I want--and my students would always listen to me (I taught in one of the 10 most violent high schools in NYC). However, discipline only goes so far when you don't have books (one classroom set costs over 3k for 30 textbooks) or even paper to make photocopies. And sometimes even the best classroom discipline gets broken by a rat scurrying across the floor.
Oh yeah...great idea. Have a bunch of jarhead idiots teaching our children. That would almost be worse than having boy butt loving christian preachers be the only ones allowed to teach everyone's kids that bible crap.





You got private boot camp schools you can send your kids to be tortured and killed at...so please...please start sending them there.





You are in the navy? Hmmph...must be practicing the ';don't tell'; bit eh? Shhhhhhhh....
You also forget that the probability of a kid bringing a gun to school is way higher than it ';used'; to be, which also adds a fear factor somewhat.
Why do people always blame the 'teachers' ?


Learning discipline and the right way to behave begins at home for both liberals and conservatives!
I don鈥檛 know if we should go so far as to hire DI鈥檚 to correct the problem. Since we eliminated mandatory PE, most high school students would drop dead from exhaustion if they faced a week of basic let alone an entire year.
Yes because there is nothing that young people respond too positively like drill instructors.
We didn't ';let'; it happen.

The kids will have to learn discipline some day - too bad they'll be adults when it happens.
I couldn't agree more. When I was in school the teachers weren't afraid grabbing a paddle and using it.
Like school ';used'; to be. Without discipline, chaos rules. Our schools now prove that point.
