What's the difference between being liberal and being libertarian?

And also, what exactly are liberal and conservative views? What's the difference between being liberal and being libertarian?
Government involvement in your life. They're pretty much polar opposites.

Libertarians want as little intervention as possible. You take your own life and make of it whatever you will, for good or ill, and then reap what you sow.

Liberals think it's ok to sit on your butt and toss rocks at the field and you'll still get fed, clothed and housed by the government. What's the difference between being liberal and being libertarian?
It all depends on how much you want the federal government in your life. Democrats love Government and think you are too stupid to take care of yourself.
Libertarians believe in less government, a smaller government, the Constitution, we stress personal liberty and responsibility, and we believe in abolishing the IRS and income tax. We are classical liberals by definition and Thomas Jefferson was a libertarian along with most of the other Founding Fathers. We are enlightened free thinkers who don't let the government make choices for us.

A liberal believes that the government should always help people in need out, they believe in universal health care, they are generally pro-choice, and they believe in more strict forms of gun control. A libertarian in most cases does not believe in those stances.

do your own homework.
Libertarian is a free thinker, smaller government, more freedom, less taxes.

Liberal - now ='s socialist.
A libertarian believes that ';that government which governs least governs best';. I would agree with them. Today what passes for a conservative is pretty liberal by todays definition. A liberal or ';progressive'; is at best a socialist and fairly likely a communist. They may be citizens of the US but they certainly aren't American.
