The media has said this same thing after several of Obama's speeches. Is it possible to have many defining speeches or is the media just stupid and in love with him? Perhaps there is another reason I haven't thought of....How come the liberal media says that each speech Obama gives is his defining speech?
Because all they can come up with is to throw accolades at his feet, or else compare him with Bush in a positive light. They can't point to any major policy decisions that have made a positive difference on a national, or international level by the current administration. Plus they delude themselves into thinking they will change anyone's mind. Mainstream media is irrelevent to anyone not already sharing their mindset. How come the liberal media says that each speech Obama gives is his defining speech?
First, the media aren't liberal, but corporate.
Second, yes, I found it annoying, too. I believe this was his third ';defining'; speech thus far (and his administration isn't a year old yet). Media hype in general gets old. They define everything as momentous to keep people watching so they can charge high ad prices.
Why you consider this a sign of being in love with him is unclear. It really has nothing to do with Obama, but is standard media hype.
How many ';Trials of the Century'; were there in the 20th century, for instance? (The first was in the teens: Fatty Arbuckle's trial -- how much does anyone today know about it?)
It's called ';being in the pocket';... and close enough to kiss you-know-what! The cadets looked kind of bored to me and, when the teleprompter ordered an Obama pause for laughter or applause, none came. Victory is as fleeting as is His fawning popularity as evidenced by the approval ratings... the only ';positives'; are along Party lines. Like Dorothy, I suppose they believe that if they tap their heels together enough times, America will blissfully sing songs of praise in the Land of Political Oz under the rule of the Great Wizard of Speech, who will grant the Military Man his Peace. Ding-dong!
Perhaps he defines himself more and more every time? I'm not entirely sure what he is defined as, however. Unfortunately, the media is going to slant everything to make him look as good as possible.
The function of the media, like any other company in the united states is to sell itself. The newspapers and tv stations will talk about what we want to hear. If we didn't watch their bullshit it would be on tv.
In this case, it is because he now has ownership of the Afghanistan War.
I don't think ';Bush'; was mentioned at all. Therefore, whatever the outcome of this new strategy, the onus is on Obama.
John Johnes is right. There's no real media love for Obama, it's just ratings. Conservatives are a little whack with the media.
I get a kick out of his disciples who respond ';Source?'; Are they DEAF? The media adores Obama and anything he does is, in their eyes, both defining and brilliant.
Its hilarious to watch the liberals spin like gyroscopes trying to cover Obama, sooner rather than later they will loose momentum and just fall over
35 percent approval rating.......and over 500 days of lies...
You still believing liberal media?
The actual reason is that the media needs to get more thrills running up its legs.
honestly, no offense he is better than Bush. At least so far Obama never had a iranian reporter throw both his shoes at him..yet.
Nope, the media is in love with the Messiah, bow down to the king.
Because everything Obama does is ';unprecedented';. lmao!
Because they think it makes them sound important.
Look at his approval ratings after each speech..I'd say they're defining. Going down!
The media has not said that at all.
get a grip!
They all are Unprecendented!!
