The President has less power when it comes to laws. He only EXECUTES laws. Congress MAKES the laws that could help the economy or hurt it and that congress is controlled by Democrats.





Also, Democrats are responsible for the housing crisis. They wanted to banks to give loans to minorities EVEN IF they couldn't afford to pay them back.

Perhaps you didn't notice, but the Republicans are the current administration, and the Democrats only have a small majority in Congress, and haven't had that for very long.





Even so, noone in Congress has done anything to stop Bush.


Gee, when Bush started the Iraq war, there was a majority of Republicans in Congress.





Bush flatly refused to do anything at the beginning of the mortgage crisis.





Bush/Cheney are too busy trying to give money away to Haliburton, big oil, Wall Street fatcats and their other cronies to actually try to repair the economy. McCain wants to continue Bush's policies.





No, we don't need more Republicans; they are the ones who got us into this mess, and the Democrats haven't done enough to stop them, so they do bear quite a bit of the responsibility, also.
the democrats took the control from a couples of year until now,but the problem of the economy is coming from the ending of the first mr.bush administration and about the laws it affect but not too much,the economy issue has the fundamentals in the international commerce and international relations,and it concerns to the president,the commerce department,the state department and a few times like the next negotiation of the ';free trade agreements'; will concern to the congress,the senate and the president, by years the usa citizens thought that the usa was running by itself but today you can see the consequences of the international community into the usa,now the usa citizens are opening their eyes to the reality,the Legacy of mr.bush is a complete chaos and he will go home with a good retirement plan and some millions in his pockets while you are making magic to earn some ';bucks'; and pay your bills.
We are in serious trouble if whoever wins the election knows as little as you do about how the federal government works. Clearly, you assumed that because the President is the executive, you were safe in making the leap to ';executes laws';-but you know what they say happens when you assume. Furthermore, the democrats currently have a slight majority-NOT a controlling majority. Read up on it-you'll find it informative! Finally (I've already wasted too much time on your rant) minorities? Must you neocons show your ugly racist selves at EVERY opportunity? Of the half dozen people I know personally who are losing their homes-all are the same color as you!
W.Bush, Mccain and the Republican Senate and Congress had total control for 6 of the last 8 years. The Democrats have only had a majority in the congress for the last 2 years and Bush has had enough Republican votes on every one of Bush's proposals and the Democrats proposals, the votes have nearly always been so close as to give Bush veto power.
Dems don't have the majority vote to control congress, yet. It does look like they will take the nine seats in the Senate they need and sweep the elections for the House, so they will finally gain ';control'; of congress this election and lay waste to the Bush Agenda that has led America to near collapse.
Bush Administration...enough said. The man has bankrupted everything he laid his hands on. Besides do you really want a man who can be your grandfather as president. Not to mention the twit that would take over...you know what if 2012 is the date for the world to end, it will be when she is at the helm. Pray that doesn't happen, because Mad-Max here I come lol. We are smart enough to NOT vote Republican. It was GOP deregulation which led to this under a Republican congress. The Democrats hold a slim majority which Bush can veto at any time.





I notice you fail to mention Bush's 1200 signing statements exempting himself from laws passed.

the republicans controlled congress for the first six of the last eight years, and they still control the senate, thank god all this will change on nov 4th, and we can get some real work done.
The economy and high gas prices happend the day the Democrats took control of congress. It's obvious.





Right now they are just trying to institute socialism and it may take a few years.

I've got a surprise for you--Republicans AND Democrats are responsible for the bad economy, and most of the media has been saying just that. However, it's no secret that more Republicans are anti-regulation (or have been in the past). That's only one ingredient in this mess, however.





Also--the economy didn't just suddenly crumble in the last 20 months since Democrats got a marginal majority (not control) of Congress. Once they get CONTROL of Congress (hopefully after this election--a 60% majority is needed to control the Senate), then we'll see if they can actually get anything done.





ETA: Republicans have controlled the White House for the last 8 years and have controlled Congress for 10 of the last 12 years (remember that whole ';Contract with America'; thing?) To claim that a vote for Republicans is a vote for change is to truly believe American voters are stupid.
